The weather in Hong Kong is so pleasant now that I’m taking every opportunity to get out and walk, even if it’s routes that I’ve done (many times) before. Today I walked from Sun Hing Gardens , in Tai Po to the Tai Po Waterfront Park and then from there into Fu Shin Estate. This is a great route for anyone living in the Tai Po area.

It doesn’t matter how many times you have been to the Waterfront Park, the trees, flowers and general tranquillity of the area are worth the visit.
Leaving Sun Hing and heading out onto the Lam Tsuen River
I never get tired of the trees along the foot path. There is a family of voles living in the roots of the last tree.
Through the underpass
And out on the Lam Tsuen River
This is a pleasant walk, and it doesn’t matter how many times you have done it. The path is used by joggers and the elderly out on their daily walks to keep fit.

The route takes you past the entrance to the Yuen Shin Park which is another pleasant sitting-out area close to the shops, restaurants and public transport. I covered it in an earlier post and you can see it here.

Across the Lam Tsuen River is another great area to visit, the Yuen Chau Tsai Park. You can see more details of this park by clicking on the link above.
The Yuen Chau Tsai Park
Within moments I was at the entrance to the Waterfront Park and spent some time relaxing and enjoying the trees and flowers. The roses are just starting to bloom again.

And then of course there are the trees which I never get tired of looking at. I honestly believe that every time I visit the park I spot a tree I haven’t seen before.

Making my way through the park I chose a path I hadn’t tried before and saw another side to the park.

Then it was out of the park and across the main road to the Fu Shin Estate and the far end of the Yuen Shin Park which marks the end of the walk.

The walk from Sun Hing Gardens, through the park to Fu Shin Estate took just over an hour and that included the time I spent enjoying the flowers and trees. If you live in the Tai Po area it’s a great way to spend some time enjoying nature and keeping fit!
